Dear FOP Family,
As we approach our 2nd Feastiversary, we'd like to thank all of you for your support over the last couple of years! Between meal prep (and Fuel Our Power), catering, and retail, we’ve enjoyed bringing you together with food.
As our vision unfolds and becomes clearer, we realize that our retail hours at the food truck have been less and less consistent, mostly because of our shift in focus towards our meal prep and catering goals. Surely, your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we’ve enjoyed and very much appreciate seeing you every week. But, understandably, not having “regular” operating hours has made it difficult to build and sustain a large enough “regular” customer base, which is crucial for the retail part of our business as a stationary truck.
This said, while it’s hard for us emotionally, it makes most sense financially and strategically to close the food truck for retail and strictly focus on growing the meal prep and catering parts of our business instead. It was a fun first step in the direction of our dreams and, as we enter our third year, it’s time for the next phase.
We sincerely apologize to those of you who may be saddened or disappointed by this announcement. We’re not going to sugar coat it; the food industry is challenging and we knew this going in, especially with our goal of introducing such a unique cuisine, and to Polk County, nonetheless! We love this community that we live in, and we’ve all had to say goodbye to several wonderful local restaurants recently. It’s a tough pill to swallow to not have a chance to satisfy those cravings ever again.
But this is not what we want for our FOP Family. We’re excited to share that we’ve figured out a way to add our signature dishes to our meal prep offerings (with options for free local delivery!) so you won’t have to miss our Kabob Burger, FOP Burger, Chicken Kabob Sandwich, Shish Kabob Sandwich, Falafel Sandwich, and Hummus & Pita Bread that we’re grateful you’ve come to love. With meal prep and catering, it will also be easier for us to expand our menu, and we’re excited to make traditional Persian dishes available beyond special occasions, so stay tuned as we roll these out!
Until then, while we’re happy for Union Hall and their private events, a Thanksgiving family trip, and family visits for Christmas, these holiday months leave only a few final evenings when we will open to the public before completely shifting to meal prep and catering only. We will post when we’re open, so please come join us!
With love and gratitude for your friendship, understanding, and continued support,
Farhad, Gianna, Nikolas, and Dominik
